How long have we been together?
On April 25, 2008 we will have been married for 24 years.
We were engaged for seven months before that.
We dated for 19 days before he poped the question.
We talked to each other once on the phone before that.
Knew of each other for a year.
How old is he?
He's turning 54. He was 30 when we met.
I'm turning 46 this year. I was 22 when we met.
I've been with him almost half of my life.
Who eats more?
Were both kind of weird about eating lately. We tend to eat at a
Mexican restuarant pretty regularly. We usually share one meal whenever
we go out. Were both cookie people.
Who said "I love you first?"
I don't remember. But I did hug him first, even before he asked me out on
our first date. And we both remember our first kiss.
Who is taller?
David is. He's 5"9'
And I am 5"7'. But I have longer legs. He has shorter legs and a longer
body.
Who sings better?
Neither of us. But we try anyway. We love to go to church together and
sing the hymns. Both of us often end up so uplifted by the songs that it's
our favorite part.
Who's smarter?
I'd have to say David is smarter. That's when it comes to mechanical things
or math or logic. Spiritually, I don't know how to compare people. When it
has to do with emotions and dealing with relations I might have a slight upper hand on him. But he is a real deep thinker. And very insightful and
can solve most problems very well.
Who does the laundry?
I do. Although he will sometimes does a load or puts some thing in the drier,or hangs some thing up. These things he does without my asking. Some thing he never does is the shopping. I always do the cooking.
Who does the dishes?
Usually he does. Unless I can get to them first.
I usually mow the lawn which is once a week or more from March to Nov.
I also rake all the leaves and mulch them. He usually trims the Holly bushes
out in front and fertilizes the yard.
Who's more stubborn?
I'd have to say me.
Who asked who out first?
He asked me to Marie Callanders. We got a piece of pie and then took a
ride on his motorcycle.
Who is more sensitive?
Me.
Who has more friends?
He does. Since he grew up here in Huntsville I have people all the time
coming up to me and asking me if I know "David Godfrey" the guy who
never wore shoes... when they find out my name. Plus all the people he
knows around the world with his car stuff. I like know two people.
Who has more siblings?
He does- 4= 2 sisters and 2 brothers to my 3 sisters.
Who wears the pants in the family?
Now that's a good question. I used to think it was him. But now I think
that both of us are pretty equal in the pants wearing dept. It's because
while I am stubborn on some things there are other things that I can
compromise on. I'm only stubborn when it comes to doing things for
myself or finding a way to do some thing I've been told is impossible.
Or hanging on when everyone tells me I should let go.
Some times it works for me and some times against me.
So there's my dirt...

ART WORK
I like to paint.
I do oils, watercolor, and acrylics. Usually I find myself interested in
landscapes or florals. Occasionally I'll put a figure in. I have done an
abstract or two, but I'm not sure anyone except the trash man has seen those besides me. I also like to use charcoal and colored pencils. Sometime I'd like to try cologe with all it's mixed media stuff.
Lately
I've been playing with paper and making greeting cards.
So I thought I'd post a few of my pieces. I've had a couple in a gallery before. And a few I put in a show. But I've never before had any on a
blog...

Flowers
I'm wanting to see some flowers around here. My favorites are
Sunflowers. I love the Mammoth Sunflowers the very most. But
any kind of sunflower will do. I also like Gladiolus and Day lilies.
All the showy flowers. And I like the flowers that smell good, like
Gardenia and Honeysuckle. And I like the flowers that are vines,
like Sweet Peas and Clematis. I love Roses too and Marigolds and
Mums. But Tulips and Hyacinths hold a special place in my heart as
well. There are certain flowers that need to be in every southern garden. Of course Day lilies and Daffodils, Rhododendrons and Azaleas, also purple Coneflowers and Forsythia and Black eyed-Susans.
All of these and more are sleeping in my garden, waiting for the
warm weather. I wish you could take a walk with me out there...

People
I figured out a long time ago that I have a lot of great people
in my life. It's what makes my life worth it. When I think of
all the ways that special loved ones touch my heart every day, I
realize how very rich I am.
The power of their love has lifted me up and sustained me. And I
am still here solely because of that love. I feel it every day.
And I am saved because of that love. I continue to reach and try to be the best I can because of the examples around me. In the face of suffering and pain or disappointments and set-backs, I think of the strength of love all these people have for me. Because of that, something inside of me increases and I want everybody to feel the same way I do.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if everybody were surrounded by great, loving people who touched them in some way every day?

The New Year is Here!
It's January, and the weather's crappy... I'd rather be out in the backyard
laying in the hammock with a cold drink swatting at mosquitoes. Just looking at seed and garden books aren't enough this time of year. Oh well,
at least I can hide away and work on jewelry and other creative stuff (in-
between working).
Speaking of hobbies... David has just about finished his car. Though I don't
know if he'll ever really be "finished". It does run now. Thought you'd like
to take a look. It's a beauty. The hood is carbon-fiber.
